Becoming mothers for the second time, Breanna Stewart and Marta Xargay are having the time of their lives. This new chapter has not only brought them immense happiness but also added a new dimension to their career and identities as athletes.
Stewart’s expression of happiness in becoming a mother is bigger than anything else she’s done. Moreover, she is also looking forward to every beautiful and challenging moment with Marta and the babies as a family.
Last Wednesday brought double happiness for the Liberty’s power forward. Breanna Stewart and her wife Marta Xargay cheerfully welcomed their baby boy on the 25th of October. Back on Mother’s Day, Stewart announced the news of the couple’s second pregnancy.
In her recent Instagram post, Breanna Stewart posted a picture of her newborn baby with the caption, Moreover, the caption also read,”(yourreferring to Stewart’s wife Marta Xargay.
Significantly, baby Theo was born a week after the Liberty lost the WNBA Finals to the Las Vegas Aces. Notably, the couple conceived Ruby via a surrogate mother, however, this time Xargay carried the baby boy herself.
Probably, Theo too will become a staple in the stands during Stewart’s games, like his elder sister Ruby.
Breanna Stewart and Marta Xargay’s daughter Ruby was born days after Stewart led the US Team and won a gold in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The couple announced Ruby’s birth through a video created by TOGETXER. It is a lifestyle and culture sport company founded by the WNBA legend Sue Bird.

Evidently, Stewart had frozen her eggs in 2019. Since the fall of 2020, the couple planned to have a baby via surrogacy, keeping the process hushed away. They began to interview different surrogates and searched for sperm donors. Eventually, after finding a perfect surrogate, they used an embryo from Stewart’s frozen eggs.
Engraving her happiness, Stewart dedicated her second signature shoe to Ruby – “Stewie 2 Ruby.” Designed by Puma, the shoe is colored ruby red and has Ruby’s birth date written.
In May 2021, Stewart proposed to Xargay, and both got married two months after that. On Stewart’s apartment building’s rooftop.
