With more rings to his name than most franchises, Robert Horry knows a thing or two about how physical players are in the NBA. So it didn’t take him long to summarize that was guilty of unnecessary violence. After years of on-court antics, the league has finally decided to stop Green from being a threat to his opponents, and the 7x champion is fully on board with it.
“Draymond, he tried to say he (Yusuf Nurkic) was holding him. Every player touches a player when you going out for a screen like that. It was nothing malicious in this instance, but what Draymond did was very malicious. Draymond gotta understand that ‘you do this all the time’. So if everybody does what you do when you holding, you would be on a fighting mat… I said a while back when he punched Jordan Poole. You got to stop this monster before it grows into a bigger monster”, said Horry during a recent episode of the Big Shot Bob podcast.
As the timeline for Green’s return is still up in the air, Steve Kerr has turned to the younger guys. This has already started paying off, as Jonathan Kuminga is now on the starting roster instead of Green.
With Andrew Wiggins also having a down year so far, Brandin Podziemski and Moses Moody have also stepped up. They all now have an elevated role on the team. This doesn’t hide the fact that the team is significantly better with Green in the lineup. But with how it’s going right now, the Warriors are doing their best with what they have.
