The face yet another blow after ‘s departure. After losing its franchise leader, the team had a shaky start to the season, winning only 3 out of the 7 games. On top of it, the team has another concern to worry about. The star center Robert Williams III received a major blow and the injury reports reveal a shocking update to the Rip City fans.
Williams III has had an immediate impact on the fans after his inclusion in the Blazers. Fans went haywire on social media, impressed by his skills near the ring. Moreover, he has contributed steadily in the points column, averaging 7.2 points in 6 games. Sadly, the frenzy around the star couldn’t last long, as he stepped out of the court mid-game and didn’t return.
The Blazers roped in Robert Williams III ahead of the 2023-24 seasons, trying to build a new team after Lillard’s exit. During his time at the, the star has already made himself a reputation for his business around the ring. While a lot of expectation was set around the star after his inclusion in the side, he sustained a knee injury early in the season.
During the Sunday night game against the, the Blazers produced a rare lead in the game after being completely dominated by the Grizzlies. In order to take the control of the game, the Grizzlies Jaren Jackson Jr., run down the lane for a bucket and collided with Williams III. The Blazers center had a nasty fall to the ground and immediately held on to his left knee. Moreover, he walked out of the game immediately and didn’t return.

The 26-year-old star has an infamous record under his belt. Williams III hasn’t completed the minimum 65-game requirement in his career so far. One particular injury during his stint with the played a huge part in that record. During the end of the 2021-22 season, he sustained a major injury on his left knee and underwent an arthroscopic knee procedure ahead of the next season. However, during the 2022 pre-season games, he again collided with Grant Williams and missed the first half of the 2022-23 season.
