As Blake Shelton heads into his last season as a coach on NBC’s , he’s preparing to leave behind plenty of things like his fellow coaches, a successful legacy, and all the future contestants that won’t get the chance to join his team. With that in mind, he revealed there is one thing in particular that he would like to take with him when he exits the show for good.

Shelton Wants This Item From The Set

The country music star told  that the one thing he would really like to take away from this chapter in his life…is the iconic red chair that has given him the opportunity to uncover so many new artists over the years.

“I don’t know if they’re gonna offer that or not. I feel like they owe me a damn chair though,” he told the outlet. “I mean, who else can sit in my chair? It’s like the three bears — I don’t want anybody else sitting in my chair. I’m gonna try to get that away from them. Maybe I’ll have to buy it or something.”

Shelton explained that this request could be a challenge, but he’s willing to put up a good fight.

“I’m sure they’re gonna say, ‘Well, the one thing you took was a lot of our money, so you should be happy with that,’” he joked.

Shelton’s Final Season Debuts March 6

On the 2023 season, Shelton will be joined by Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan and Chance The Rapper on the roaster of coaches. Shortly after this news was unveiled, the “God’s Country” singer/songwriter announced that he would be stepping down from the show after serving the longest run for 23 seasons.

“I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after next season,” Shelton began in his statement.

“This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me,” he continued. “It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best. It takes a lot of work, passion, and adult beverages (Ha!) to pull off a live show twice a week.”

The “No Body” singer also shared gratitude for “lifelong bonds” he has made since joining the show, including with his wife, Gwen Stefani and each of the coaches that have come and gone during that time. He also gave a shoutout to Carson [Daly] and all the contestants he has gotten to meet in the process.

He concluded his statement by saying, “Lastly, it’s about y’all, the fans, who watch and support these artists, us coaches and everyone at  who are chasing their dreams.”
